A method to reduce this burden is to begin making arrangements for the following week in order to reduce some of the unknowns. For example, as Friday begins to wind down, this time presents an opportunity to begin making contacts with people you would like to meet with next week. These meetings can be set up for pleasure or for prospective advancement in your career such as your mentor or boss, etc.
Another tool that can be used to help reduce your risk for a case of the “Monday’s” is to begin organizing your week. Set up as much of your calendar as possible. This way there is much less unknown to worry about and you feel much more in control of what lies ahead.
Another technique that can be used to reduce your Monday-itis is to complete one of tasks that you will have to do one Monday. This may seem like a daunting task of Friday, but Monday morning will thank you 10-fold.
Finally, the last method that can be used to help reduce your fear of Mondays is to make someone else’s Monday feel superb. Think of a person that you are grateful for such as an assistant or colleague and write them a thank you note on Friday. This way it is set to be delivered on Monday. You will be excited all weekend to give them your token of appreciation and your gesture will help fire up there week.
