CUSP will be located at the new Harry and Diane Rinker Health Science campus along with the doctoral program in physical therapy and a new physician assistant program just two miles from the Irvine Spectrum. The health sciences campus is situated on 7.5 acres with three buildings which total in 166,413 square feet of interior space. The curriculum will consist of an interprofessional education component along with an active learning model known as the “flipped classroom” in which students will conduct inquiry and knowledge acquisition outside of the formal classroom setting. Beginning in 2015, CUSP expects to accept 70 students which will gradually increase to a class of 100 students accepted annually.
CUSP’s Dean Ronald P. Jordan, BPharm, RPh, FAPhA was previously dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island (URI) and also as executive secretary of the Rhode Island State Crime Lab Commission since 2007. Dean Jordan is also a former President of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and served six years on the board of trustees. In addition he has served on the AACP’s Finance, Investment, and ByLaws and Policy Development Committees and also as Dean Mentor for the Academic Leadership Fellows Program.
