KGI Keck School of Pharmacy

The KGI Keck School of Pharmacy, located in Claremont, CA has received WASC accreditation and the ACPE has authorized by the Board of Directors for an on-site evaluation which is scheduled during May of 2014 for consideration of Pre-candidate accreditation status.  If Pre-candidate status is granted, the first class will start Fall, 2014.  They have already begun excepting prospective students on a tentative basis.  The School of Pharmacy will be a traditional 4 year program and will include interprofessional and teamwork experiences in addition to increasing the use of informatics, pharmacogenomics, clinical-regulatory affairs, entrepreneurship, and systems analysis.  The Keck School of Pharmacy will be offering, in addition to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, a certificate in one of four concentrations: Healthcare Operations Management, Clinical Trials/Regulatory Affairs, Medication Therapy Outcomes, or Health Information Technology.

The Founding Dean of the KGI School of Pharmacy is Kathy Webster, PharmD, PhD has helped to establish new schools of pharmacy including the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy where she previously served as professor and associate dean of academic affairs. Prior to that, Dr. Webster was the assistant dean and chair of pharmaceutical sciences and professor at Feik School of Pharmacy, University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She has also held positions at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina which included director of science education outreach, director of pharmaceutical analysis laboratory, and associate and assistant professor of medicinal chemistry. Dean Webster also helped found and develop the Campbell University Pharmaceutical Sciences Institute (CUPSI).
