Dr. Corner made a good point on the significance of making change to the career in pharmacy. I agree with him that we, pharmacists and student pharmacists, should be the one to define our career and what we do. In order to do that, we need to form group to make our voice heard and influence the legislation. We don't want other people to define pharmacist career as just dispensing medications. Another point to take away from the seminar is developing relationship with others to expand job opportunities. It's important to be part of clubs and organizations who have the same goal as we do, so we can get to know each other and be informed about what's going on in the pharmacy world. I will never forget the lesson I learned today that never say "I don't have time". I had been using that reason to stay in my comfort zone. Now I have to rethink about this and make sure I plan time to get involved and participate in organizations. I also like his recommendations on at least joining a general organization and a specialized organization. I have always been oriented to hospital job but after his talk, I think I should be more open to other options in case hospital job is no longer in my plan.

Dr. Conner talked about how the pharmacy practice and the health care market are rapidly changing and as a student we need to prepare for the coming challenges and opportunities. He put emphasis on being a good communicator as a pharmacist and what a huge influence it can make. I thought this was a really good point to remember because as a student I tend to focus more on the academics first and forget about the importance of simple and effective communicating skills. He also mentioned that being pharmacist that being involved in pharmacist associations is very important because it allows the pharmacist to have their voices out and also build some legislatures that can help better care for the patients. He also highlighted that all pharmacists are leaders. Truly, they need to be a communication leaders to win the game. One of the key things he mentioned was we should not take advantage of blaming on something else when things didn't go right. But we should always take full responsibility at any situation and alter our actions to change the outcome. That way we become better leaders.
